Ruben Studdard’s getting hitched

Not to be outdone by Season 2 American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken’s baby news, winner Ruben Studdard is getting married.

Studdard, 29, is planning to marry Surata Zuri McCants, a 30-year-old we know little about. The two registered Monday for a marriage license, according to The Associated Press.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama — 205! — Studdard has released three CDs since winning the Idol title in 2003. Aside from planning his nuptials, the singer also is working on new music for an upcoming release.
