Let’s cut to the truth

Season 6 finalist Sean Michel says he hasn’t been cut from the show for not cutting his hair or beard.
You may or may not have heard the most recent “American Idol” rumor — Memphis finalist Sean Michel (the one who compared his looks to Fidel Castro) was cut from the show because he wouldn’t cut his long hair or beard.
Well, I went straight to the source and found out for myself if this rumor had any validity.
“Actually, my friend made a Facebook comment on a fan group and said that. But he was being completely sarcastic,” Michel responded to a question I asked via his MySpace page. “But a lot of people took it seriously cause they figure he would know. But the truth is no one has asked me to cut my hair or beard, and I have not cut them either.”
I also asked “Idol” stylist Dean Banowetz if refusing to change style would ever get a contestant kicked off the show. After all, Banowetz has said before that Taylor Hicks was hesitant to change his look too much, fearing votes would be lost.
“It is gonna take more than a haircut to get you kicked off a show,” Banowetz told me after I asked about the Sean Michel rumor. “I haven’t heard that rumor yet.”
Well, there’s further proof you can’t believe everything you hear. Maybe Courtney Love can take a lesson from this.

I’m totally impressed by your interviewing skills! Not the fact that you ARE interviewing - just that you GOT the interview. Britney is a little more difficult to track down…
