Kristy Lee Cook signs recording contract

Kristy Lee Cook had a recording contract. Then she lost it. Then she went on American Idol.

Now the Season 7 Idol finalist is working on a new CD with her new label, Arista Nashville. Arista signed Kristy Lee when she was 17, but the singer was dropped before she even had a chance to release a CD.

Kristy Lee’s full CD is expected in the fall, with her first single, 15 Minutes of Shame, set to hit country radio Aug. 11.

“I’ve wanted this for so many years,” Cook said in a release. “To have the chance to be a country singer, to make the music I love, and to have enjoyed the support of so many American Idol fans this past season, it all means more than I can put into words. Thank you so much to everyone. I’ll do my best to make you proud!”
