Jason Castro’s MTV moment

If you liked Jason Casto’s performance this week on American Idol — and how could you not? — you probably would be interested to know he already has been in a video on MTV. And a reality show.

In case you haven’t heard, Castro could be seen hanging out with Cheyenne Kimball during her time in the MTV spotlight a few years ago. The young singer had her own reality show, Cheyenne, and it helped produce her first big hit, Hanging On. The video for the single (check it out above) features a cameo with Castro, who appears as a love interest of Cheyenne a little more than halfway through the video — dreadlocks and all.

Still, I think Castro, a Dallas-based drummer, is making plenty of good music on his own these days. Hopefully he’ll be able to cash in on his own reality show and make this season of Idol the one where he’s the star.
