‘Idol’ goes to San Diego

Will this guy make it through? Of course, not. It appears he’s not only too old, but that has to be a costume. Or maybe not.
You’ve been freaking out, right? It’s been six days since you’ve seen American Idol. How can they actually expect you to wait almost an entire week between episodes?
Well, tonight it’s back. After last week’s two-hour episodes with auditions from Philadelphia and Dallas, the crew goes to San Diego. Tonight’s one-hour episode begins at 8/7c on FOX.
Producer Nigel Lythgoe apparently reported that auditions went very well in San Diego, and the show told local reporters it even would consider returning to the California city for Season 8 auditions. Of course, saying the auditions went well doesn’t mean there were a ton of great singers — it could just mean there was a ton of entertainment. I guess we’ll see.
Tune in to watchingamericanidol.com tonight for live blogging during the show.
