“Idol” at the MTV VMAs
The 2007 MTV Video Music Awards was the place to be Sunday night at the Palms in Las Vegas. Everyone was there waiting to see if Britney’s comeback would be, well, a comeback. It turned out to be a less-than-stellar performance from the struggling pop star.
“American Idol” was represented with nominations for Carrie Underwood (Best New Artist) and Chris Daughtry (Monster Single of the Year for “Home”), but both lost their categories. Carrie, who seemed like an odd choice for her category — at least a year late, if nothing else — didn’t seem to be present at the show.
Daughtry and former “Idol” contestant-turned-Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson strutted their stuff on the red carpet. It looked a little something like this:
