Down to 9: Chris Sligh goes home

Chris Sligh performs during his last week on “Idol.” The funny man maybe didn’t get a chance to make The Hoff cry, but he did gain a few fans along the way. So long Jack Osbourne, so long.
Who will go? I’m still hoping for Sanjaya. But I’m guessing Haley Scarnato and Chris Sligh are the ones in the most trouble.
Let’s get to it. First, though, Ryan has to walk out on stage with a “Sanjaya” wig on his head. It’s a mess and not really funny. This is the part of “Idol” where I really think things are a little too out of control. Oh, wait, here comes another commercial featuring the remaining finalists.
The results:
Blake is up first. Safe.
LaKisha is next. Also safe.
Phil, who had his best night in quite a while, … and … he is the first in the bottom three.
Melinda is next. Safe.
Chris Richardson? After being in the bottom two last week, he’s safe.
Sanjaya is up next. Unfortunately, he’s safe. And I, officially, give up. I realize this show and its audience are way bigger than me.
Haley, in no surprise, joins Phil in the bottom three.
Jordin. Another safe.
Left to hear their results — Chris Sligh and Gina Glocksen. So far, there are no surprises. And, the way it’s going, I don’t think there will be.
Before the elimination continues, Gwen Stefani has to take the stage in what I’m guessing is the most anticipated guest performance of the season — at least to this point.
Joining her on stage for a performance of “Sweet Escape” is Akon. And the performance, as expected, is a definite up. This certainly beats those annoying group numbers we’re used to seeing week after week.
Now back to the elimination.
Gina looks frightened. Chris looks calm. It should have been the other way around. Gina, don’t look sad, girl. This was your week. You nailed it.
So, Phil, Haley or Chris. Who’s it going to be?
Phil goes back to safety. (Don’t you just love this play-by-play action?)
Going home tonight … it’s Chris Sligh. There you have it, folks. If you want more Chris, you’ll have to wait for the summer tour.
So, did the right person get the boot this week? It’s your turn to speak out.
American Idol, Chris Sligh, Gwen Stefani, Akon, Phil Stacey, Haley Scarnato

Looks like Howard Stern and his band of As_ho— are ruining a good show, like they are ruining the rest of America. Since when is going against the grain of what the public likes and holds dear supposed to make a person feel good about themselves? Just shows how an immature person can be led by the nose to do what, if they had halfway decent parents, they were raised not to do. America has seen better days.

Ummm where was Howard Stern in on this? Does he have part in American Idol? I’m confused. Then again I skim in and out of the room (not a faithful watcher) while my husband is glued to the tv like my ass is glued to my lips. Oops to much informations. HA HA!
Seriously we TIVO American idol we can rewind and watch stuff that we would have missed on regular tv. I have to say I came into the room and turned off the TV when Sanjaya stayed. Who is the heck is voting for this kid? I think it’s just for ratings if I say so myself. There can’t be that many idiots in America, right?

Favorite Gwen Stefani comment of the results show (and I would have missed this if not for my beloved TiVo)? Regarding Sanjaya: “Maybe next time he should sing an instrumental.”
ZING. Perfect.
