Constantine’s big debut

by Reed Dunn

He was the resident rocker. Well, alongside runner-up Bo Bice, anyway.

Constantine Maroulis gained some fans in Season 4 of “American Idol,” and he went on to work some gigs as an off-Broadway performer. Today he released his self-titled debut, and he hopes to make a name for himself with the debut single, “Everybody Loves.”

Constantine may have waited a little too long to use his “Idol” fame to help gain support for his CD. The disc, released on his own Sixth Place Records, is a mix of Constantine-esque music. There’s rock, a touch of metal and a little bit of pop influence. Is it what “Idol” fans want to hear?

I got the CD last weekend and I have to say I love it! I find it refreshing and unique. His voice sound better then when he was on AI and the song selection is great. I really love Fading Into You.

  2. Erika Says:

I bought the CD today and I LOVE it! My favorite has to be “I thought It Was Something” and “Midnight Radio”…just awesome!

  3. Paula Says:

I have it, love it. The CD may have been 2 years+ in the making and it may seem like a long time — well, it was! Don’t know if it could have happened differently, but I think the wait produced a product that is very uniquely “Constantine”. I have succumbed to the catchy “Everybody Loves”, and adore “Fading into You” and “Right to my Head”. This is a hand-crafted specimine amist a bunch of mass-produced widgets. I believe many, many AI fans will re-discover the multi-faceted talent that set him apart from many idols before and since. His newer soap opera fans will be delighted as well.

  4. Patti Says:

I love this CD!! If you loved Constantine on AI, you will love this CD! Constantine’s voice sounds better than ever, it’s clear, and just soars. The ballads are so moving and touching, and he really rocks it on “Child You’re the Revolution” and “I thought it was Something”. You won’t get bored listening to this, which is what I love about it most! You will not regret butying this CD.

  5. Shayla Says:

The CD is amazing. There is a great selection of music, and each song is very unique. His vocals are strong and voice is capitivating, his talent shines! My favorite tracks include heaven help the lonely, fading into you, and so long. A true masterpiece, you will not be disappointed!

I am SO happy to finally have a Constantine CD! Constantine Maroulis was my pick to win American Idol during Season Four, and I have been eagerly anticipating his album since then. How pleased I am to find that I enjoy every single one of the tracks on this CD! I loved his versatility on the show, and it is very apparent on “Constantine” also. The variety of different styles of songs on this CD is impressive. Constantine Maroulis is truly a virtuoso and shows the full range of his talent and musical interests on this album. It’s great to see that a few of the songs were penned by him too! My favorite songs so far are So Long, Fading Into You and Midnight Radio. However, this is like picking a favorite child. They are all favorite for one reason or another. I find myself singing along to each one of them, and I cannot WAIT to hear the first single, Everybody Loves, on the radio some time soon. Congrats, Constantine, on a masterpiece! Definitely well worth the wait!

I got my pre-order today and absolutely adore the cd. It has everything on it that made me love him on Idol. Ballads, rock…love the Midnight Radio cover…just something for everyone. Great job. A+++++

  8. Zoe Says:

Actually, he was on Broadway in The Wedding Singer and off-Broadway in something else…

  9. No BS Says:

I really love Constantine’s new self-titled CD. It really showcases his diversity, meaning the ease with which he is able to perform different styles of music. He has a beautiful, soaring voice and is a master showman. I’m glad he was able to self produce this CD so that he could make it exactly the way he wanted to. From the packaging (which is gorgeous) to the content, which is really entertaining, you won’t be disappointed.
