Clay, Kelly and rumors. Oh, my!
Members at Clay Aiken fan site Clayonline.com have shut down the forums after members have continued to question Aiken’s sexuality. They say it’s not the place for such discussions. It is, apparently, the place for old women to talk about just how much they want to squeeze Aiken’s cheeks. Don’t get me wrong, I do like Clay, but c’mon people. Let’s be real.
Kelly Clarkson also is in the middle of a controversy that stems from fights with Clive Davis and RCA about her artistic rights and talent as a songwriter. Clarkson’s upcoming CD release, which already has been getting a ton of buzz, has put the original “Idol” back in the headlines. Here’s what she had to say to Elle magazine in a story for the July issue:
“I could give a crap about being a star. I’ve always just wanted to sing and write. My resistance upsets a lot of people, because we could make a lot of money. And I’m not hatin’ on money. But you know in ‘Funny Girl,’ when they make Barbra Streisand sing the ‘beautiful girl’ song, and she is singing these lyrics, and she knows she’s not that person? I’m just not comfortable doing things that don’t feel like me.”
Well, OK then.
One more thing before I go. It appears host Ryan Seacrest is blaming that bitter Simon Cowell for the ratings drop. “Well, the knee-jerk reaction would be Simon,” Seacrest responded when being asked recently about what’s to blame for the drop in ratings, which still didn’t taken the show out of the top spot week after week. To be honest, though, it probably was a joke. After all, without Simon, Ryan wouldn’t have a job on the show. Of course, he has his radio gig and E! now, so he may be ready for “Idol” to end.
