I bought the CD today. Love it! Course I am a tad partial, but I really do think this is a very solid CD with a nice variety of tunes. There is traditional country, upbeat country, a tear jerker and some very turned up, southern rock country. My fave tracks:
Bible and the Belt
I’ll Walk
Good to be Us
Ain’t No Thang
Carolina Rain

Something for everyone!!! Bucky has been telling us for months that the CD has ballads, straight country, and turned up rocking country and he didn’t disappoint!!! This is an awesome CD!! My favorites are: ‘Carolina Blue’, ‘Hometown’, ‘I’ll Walk’, and ‘I’m Good’.

I love this CD!!! I know it is going to have a lot of hits come from it. I know “I’ll Walk” and “I’m Good” will do great along with all of his songs! This is one of the best CD’s I’ve heard in a long time!

[...] * Is it just me or did Bucky Covington not have enough talent to be on AI let alone record a cd? [...]

Meg — I think Bucky’s talent didn’t get a chance to shine on AI because he is in his element with Country and Southern Rock. Listen to the CD — I usually don’t listen to country and Bucky has made me a fan! Every single song on the CD is amazing. and as far as the person goes — he is genuine, funny, and a appreciative — I rather give my money to buy his CD than some that thinks they entitled to it!

We Actually AGREE!
My 12 year old and I never agree on music we like, but BOTH of us LOVE Bucky’s cd. And the best part is I don’t have to worry about a poor message or bad language with Bucky’s cd. The message the whole cd conveys is one of a person who is happy with who he was and who he has become. Love of god and family and friends. Bucky put together an awesome cd that the entire family can enjoy. I loved the potential his voice had when he was on American Idol and how he took any constructive criticism to only improve week after week. This cd showcases the many many subtleties of his voice that the AI band and sound system managed to drown out. His voice is so honest and captivating he could sing the ABC’s and sound amazing.
Bucky and his team picked out an amazing assortment for his debut CD and I see many many songs that will play very well on the radio. Just about every song on the CD could easily be a radio hit and there isn’t a “dud” song on the entire cd. I can only think of maybe one other cd that I don’t have to skip through at least ONE song.
I would highly recommend this CD to anyone to give a listen and see what YOU think. Everyone I know that has taken a listen, has really liked Bucky Covington’s debut cd!

This is the CD to have this summer! Bucky shines in different ways on this album….be it a slow or a fast song, he adds his own twist. American Idol didn’t give him a chance to show us what he’s got…….a LOT of talent! So happy to have added this to my playlist. My favorites are It’s Good to Be Us, I’m Good, Carolina Blue, Hometown and A Different World. If you liked Bucky on Idol, you’ll love this CD!!!

I’ve been looking forward to this CD since I heard Bucky Covington sing an unusually moving version of “Thunder Rools” during his time on Idol–and he absolutely delivered. This album reflects who he is musically in a way that the Idol format just couldn’t capture, with a healthy dash of Southern Rock amidst some strong and satifying country. Really great listening, and well worth the wait!

Wow, I *hate* country but I always liked Bucky and thought he had great tone when he was on Idol. Up till the past few months I’ve never bought any album from any Idol, and now I think I’ll be the proud owner of two albums (I’ve had Daughtry’s since it came out and it’s one of the best rock albums ever).
I can’t judge country because I don’t like it, but I *love* Bucky’s cd (just listened to it all the way through). To me it sounds more rock than country, with the exception of Bucky’s pronunciation on the lyrics, it reminds me of something Bon Jovi would have done during it’s ‘Blaze of Glory’ days.
So far my fav songs on the cd (just at first listen) are ‘American Friday Night’ (fantastic), ‘I’ll Walk’ (alright I’m a sap but it got me), ‘Back When We Were Gods’ (could have been a Bon Jovi tune), ‘I’m Good’ (a lot of fun), ‘Empty Handed’ (I dig that hard rock throb and the gritty lyrics - very catchy), ‘It’s Good To Be Us’ (which I think could be a monster hit on crossover radio, love the upbeat tempo and the
harmonies on this one), ‘Carolina Blue’ (makes me nostalgic for the South, even though I generally hated it while I was living there. I understand he wrote
this one himself, which also speaks to his talent), even ‘Bible and Belt’ is fun.
Color me impressed! There are many Idols I wish well who are good singers and I hope they are successful (Elliot Yamin, Taylor Hicks, even Kat McPhee) but I would never buy their cds because they just aren’t my genre of music. For the first time ever, I’ll be buying a country cd, that’s how good Bucky’s music is to me. Of course, that may mean he’s going to fail in country (since I’m not a fan of the genre) but man I hope not. I hope he goes platinum and becomes the second most successful Idol from last year (it would take a miracle to catch up with Daughtry’s success at this point, and Daughtry will always be my fav)
Bucky rocks!

I loved Bucky on Idol, but I don’t think he really got a chance to shine until now,the entire CD is absolutley the best album I’ve heard in years,I am a huge country fan but usually an artist will have one or two songs on their album I like and that become real hits but every song on Bucky’s album ia a potential hit, they are all awesome,I really can’t pick a favorite, I really love listening to them all,I always listen to the entire CD every time I put it in,which is every time I get a chance, lot’s of Bucky always playing at my house.I will say that my husband’s favorite is “Between the Bible and the Belt”,even though he really likes the whole CD.I highly recommend Bucky Covington to everyone, whether you like country or good ole southern rock you will love this album.

I love the cd Bucky did!!! Every song is good. I think it is far better than what they allowed him to do on Idol. Bucky has his own sound, just like you know it’s Bowie or John Mellencamp, Toby Keith, and so on…..you get what I mean. I think that whatever Bucky sings and you enjoy his voice you will like anything he sings. I can’t wait for the next one ….and the next one… and the next……….. I knew he would have a hit….Thanks Bucky for proving me right! Keep up the great work!

I love this cd! It just really offers a good mix of country, a little southern rock and some good ole honky tonk. It is hard to pick a favorite song because they are all good for different reasons. I love his vocals on “I’ll Walk” and “Carolina Blue” and I like the slightly honky tonk sound of “Ain’t No Thing”. “I’m Good” and “Different World” are the most country of the songs and they are both great. I am hoping “I’m Good” will be the next single. “Hometown” has a spiritual sound to it that I like. It is just one of the best cd’s I have bought in years.

This CD is excellent. The songs picked by both Bucky and Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown and the song “Carolina Blue” which he co-wrote, were taylor made for Bucky to sing. His voice is so full of emotion and it can change from song to song, slow to fast, whatever the song needs, Bucky gives. He also gives 110% while singing these songs live and at radio tour stops. Bucky is a wonderful musician and are very proud of his current sucess. This is by far one of the best CD’s I have purchased from a country artist in months.
