Blake ready to collaborate

It was announced Friday (sorry, I’m slow) that Season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis had signed the contract for a deal with 19 Recordings/Arista Records.

It’s no big surprise, considering his popularity on this season. It’s also not a big surprise Clive Davis had this to say: “Blake has a strong music sensibility and knows who he is and what his music should represent.” Hmm, I wonder what kind of freedom Blake actually will have on the debut.

With collaborators that including Sean Kingston (”Beautiful Girl”), Ryan Tedder and Sluggo, it seems like he’s already getting some of the hottest up-and-comers on board. The CD is expected to be released later this year, but no exact date has been announced.

In celebration, I’ve posted a video of one of my favorite Blake performances of the season.
