Super Bowl vs. ‘Idol’
It’s the one TV event that pulls in audiences larger than even “American Idol.” And it’s on today.
Like many Americans, I watch the Super Bowl for the commercial breaks. And the halftime show.
I always am fascinated by how much the 30-second commercials cost advertisers. This year, the Super Bowl spots sold for as much as $2.6 million. In comparison, advertisers who run during “Idol” breaks on Fox are paying an average of $620,000 per spot.
As far as the halftime show, I think next year’s show would be a huge hit if it was a combination of mini performances from all six “Idol” winners. Not that I think Prince will put on a bad show during today’s game, I just think things haven’t been as interesting since the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake snafu.

Please! I’d rather see good, solid performances by people like Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, and Prince any day, rather than Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake! I don’t care what body parts they show! Prince did a great job last night!
