Add Bono to the list

Bono joins a growing list of celebrities who will appear this week as part of “Idol Gives Back.”

The all-star cast of appearances during “Idol Gives Back” now will include Bono.

The lead singer of U2 will meet with the top six to talk about ONE: The Campaign to Make Poverty History. Bono has long been a supporter of charities to fight AIDS and poverty in Africa, so it’s no surprise he’ll be on hand this week.

I just hope the performances tonight are all good. With Sanjaya out of the picture — though he certainly has been doing more post-”Idol” press than any other castoff — I really hope the finalists focus on trying to be better than they were the week before. For a couple of them (sorry Phil and Chris), there definitely is room for improvement.
